Growing an interest as an adult
One of the things a gift membership gives is the opportunity to immerse yourself in something that interests you so that you can escape from the world for a bit and forget all about it, while you focus on your interest.

Some interests start with an acorn, perhaps something you enjoyed when you were at school and want to take up again. Art is a typical one of those, "well, I wasn't good enough to pursue it as a career, I wanted to enjoy it as an interest, something to relax with... but then life took over and I never took it up again." This section really just wanted to show you how I started out on some hobbies I never thought I’d take up. It’s a journey really, and I’m loving it. I really hope you find it helpful!
Various questions may come to you about your life.
- Are you making the most of it?
- Have you got things you enjoy that you can lose yourself in, rather than scrolling endlessly on your phone or on the internet?
- Have you got activities that you can do which give you pleasure and make you feel good?
- How much will they cost?
Interests used to be known as hobbies. Some were creative such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, writing and baking. But there are a whole host of hobbies you can do and many of them do not cost a lot, thanks to the internet and other means to show you how you can develop a passion for a new interest. It’s a great way to give your brain a workout too – all from the comfort of home!
