The British Museum is based in London. The British Newspaper Archieve is partnered with the British Library to digitise over 40 million newspaper pages from its collection over a 10 year period. The British Library's collection of historical newspapers has papers from 1603 to the present day, from both Britain and further afield. There are over 600,000 bound volumes of newspapers and over 300,000 reels of microfilm. That's quite a collection! 10 million pages are available online and the plans are to increase this to 40 million by 2021. You can treat someone to a subscription or subscribe yourself and there are different types of sub available. This is a great resource for any history lover who loves delving into the past.
