So RHS Chelsea Flower Show is over for another year but if you weren’t able to get there, you may be able to get to other RHS Flower Shows taking place.
There are a number of them around the country – Chatsworth, Hampton Court, Harlow Carr, Tatton Park, Hyde Hall, Rosemoor, Wisley and the Malvern Autumn Show.
RHS Members get reduced ticket prices and there are also Members’ preview days for some shows.
There are also other events throughout the year at the four RHS Gardens.
If you’re planning to holiday in the UK, you could always include a visit to an RHS Garden. We did this when we went to Harrogate for a weekend; we stopped in at Harlow Carr and had a wonderful time. And yes, we devoured lots of goodies at Betty’s Tea Rooms there at the gardens.
There are 200 RHS Partner Gardens across the UK and overseas at selected periods (you need to check opening times before you go to these).
So there are a lot of opportunities to enjoy beautiful places and discover lots about gardening, wildlife gardening and the RHS gives plenty of scope for getting out into the fresh air, meeting fellow gardeners and exchanging notes over flower-beds, and for members, reading the RHS magazine The Garden when it arrives – it really is a very good magazine.
The RHS community is enormous – and that’s in part due to the membership and in part due to the incredible campaigns they run, strengthening the relationship between people of all ages and gardening.
