World Book Day in March is being celebrated at over 20 National Trust properties around the country this year, so this is a great chance to get the kids out and involved in something different!

There are all sorts of things happening.   For instance, you could step back to the 1960’s at Sudbury’s World Book Day weekend, enjoy exclusive access to the conservation team at Belton House in Lincolnshire, listen to tall tales, get creative with book-themed crafts and meet some of your favourite storybook characters at Souter Lighthouse (Tyne & Wear), or head to Ightham Mote to explore the pleasures of books and reading by following the story of the gingerbread man in the garden trail.

At some properties, you can meet children's authors and illustrators.  The Children's Book Festival is running again at Wray Castle and also at Knole - check the websites for dates and admission info
