More about the Woodland Trust
The Woodland Trust was founded in 1972 and nearly 40 years later, it owns 1,200 woods throughout the UK. Every wood is open for everyone to enjoy. There's nothing like a walk through woodland to walk off all those Christmas excesses, enjoy the bluebells in Spring, the wild flowers in Summer or the colourful falling leaves in autumn. The Woodland Trust's vision is to see a UK rich in native woods & trees, enjoyed and valued by everyone.

|
The Woodland Trust aims to:
- Campaign for greater protection of native woods, particularly ancient woodland which is the richest wildlife habitat and the UK's equivalent to the rainforest).
- Double the amount of native woodland in the UK. The Woodland Trust has already planted over 13 million trees in its near 40 years of existence, which is more than any other UK conservation organisation.
- Increase people's understanding and enjoyment of woods
Today, the Woodland Trust has a strong membership who share the charity's passion for woodland and nature. British woodlands abound with wildlife, from deer to dormice, squirrels to rabbits, birds of prey to insects, the adder and ant. Give a gift membership and you'll help preserve and protect woodlands and wildlife for future generations.
